The appellant is seeking reversal of a decision made by the Dallas Center-Grimes Community School District board requiring her to take three additional credits in order to receive a diploma based on present day requirements, rather than those that were effective in 1967.
She filed an appeal with the board on the grounds she was entitled to a diploma back in 1967 as she met graduation requirements, before she dropped out of school due to health issues. Her request was denied. When she appealed again, the board's decision was she would have to obtain three additional credit hours, per the current graduation policy, in order to receive a diploma. She needs one semester of speech and two semesters of math.
The appellant has not shown sufficient reason in fact or law to overturn this decision.
The local board's decision is affirmed.
