The appellants seek reversal of a decision made by the Marshalltown Community School District to close the elementary school in Albion. They have shown considerable effort, ability, diligence, and tenacity in their efforts to keep the school open.

The public was made aware of the closing and given ample opportunity to respond, and the board gave adequate deliberation to alternatives and repercussions. The State Board will not disturb a local board's decision regarding a school closing unless it is hastily made without adequate information or public input.
