The appellants seek reversal of a decision made by the Wellsburg Community School District regarding their daughter's restricted driver's license.
The district had a policy where the superintendent could sign an "Affidavit of Necessity for School License", if the situation required it. The board reviewed and amended it so that a form registering the vehicle would be signed, and copies given to law enforcement and district officials. The appellant objected to this stipulation.
The issue arose as to whether registration lists of family vehicles driven by students with restricted licenses could be given to law enforcement without the prior written consent of the student's family or guardian. The district's policy conflicts with federal law.
The local board's decision is overruled.
