The appellants seek reversal of a decision made by the Newton Community School District to disallow credits from the Adult Education Program to be applied toward graduation credits.

The board policy states that adult education courses may be substituted for regular school credits to allow the dropout student to graduate with their class; and for the second semester senior, adult ed courses would be allowed for credit. It appears the board erroneously applied the second half of the policy, rather than the first half of the policy, which was applicable to the appellants.

The local board's decision is overruled.
