The appellants seek reversal of a decision made by the Adair-Casey Community School District board to retain a letter from administration about the student's misconduct on the school bus.
The school bus driver complained that the student's misbehavior was causing sufficient distraction to the point of jeopardizing the safety of the other students. The administration sent a letter home to the appellants advising them of the situation.
The appellants felt some of the allegations were incorrect, and they requested a retraction and the removal of the letter from the student's records.
The superintendent and the board president issued a statement publically expressing regret for the confusion the administration's letter may have caused the appellants. There was not sufficient harm intended or resulting to justify requiring an apology to the appellants.
The local board's decision is upheld.
