Summary

The appellants seek reversal of a decision made by the Decorah Community School District board to not grant them another hearing about homeschooling their son. They argue that the board was unfair in declining their request for a hearing, and that they have increased instruction/supervision time completed with a certified teacher.

It is found that the district did not act unreasonably in refusing their request for another hearing, and that there was not a sufficient reason to require the district to allow them another hearing.

It is found that the changes the Sessions made to their program were not significant enough to meet the requirements laid out in Iowa Administrative Code 670--53.

The local board's decision is upheld.
