Mr. Long has lived in his present home for about 3 yearrs. His 13-year-old son came to live with him a year and a half ago and his 16-year-old daughter moved in with her father about 2 weeks before the applications were filed, following a custody battle. Ms. Neuman and her son also moved in with Mr. Long at the same time as Abrianne. Mr. Long's son attends Central Lyon under open enrollment.

Ms. Neuman's son, Jeff, has always attended George and his application does not meet the good cause exception for late filing. Abrianne's does, however. There Jeff's denial was reaffirmed. Abrianne's change of custody was not completed until August 1994. Abrianne had always attended the Central Lyon District until she moved into her father's home.

That the decision of the George Community School District's Board of Directors denying Abrianne Long's request for open enrollment to Central Lyon to continue her education was reversed. The decision regarding Jeff Neuman was not disturbed.
