The appellant seeks reversal of a decision by the Iowa High School Athletic Association denying her request for an additional semester of eligibility for her son.

Rob has had eight semesters of eligibility to date, as he had attended attended high school for four years with one year at alternative high school. The appellant is asking for a ninth semester of eligibility based on family hardship, due to the fact that the student worked outside of the home to help the family financially.

While it is not a bad decision for Rob to choose working over athletics, it is not significant enough of a situation that warrants extending athletic eligibility for another semester.

The decision made by the Iowa High School Athletic Association denying the request for an additional semester of eligibility is affirmed.
