The appellant is contesting two petitions on a ballot regarding the location of a new attendance center and seeks the relief of the State Board ordering a particular proposition be placed on a ballot for an election. The district has an elementary school located in Milo and Lacona and wanted to build a new school that would combine them. The battle has waged since 1987 over whether a new school should be built and where it should built.
At a June 4 special meeting, the Board voted to accept three signed petitions on the matter, subject to the necessity of even holding an election as the official results of a previous election had not been certified.
The issue before the hearing panel and the State Board is whether the Board's action of refusing to place the appellant's petition alone on the ballot is an abuse of the Board's discretion.
The decision of the Southeast Warren Community School District board is affirmed.
