Summary
The Riverside attendance center housed two hundred students from grades one through six, was not handicapped accessible, and has been conditionally approved by the fire marshall on a year-by-year basis. In contrast, the attendance center in Ainsworth was underutilized.
In 1988-1989, the board and the superintendent begin exploring options to use these facilities more efficiently. A feasibility committee was formed to research the matter further. The board voted unanimously to move grades K-3 to Ainsworth and K plus 4-6 at Riverside.
The decision made by the Highland Community School District board of education is affirmed.
