Summary
The appellants seek reversal of a decision made by the Clinton Community School District to close Gateway Middle School.
The district determined it was necessary to close the school because of financial difficulties and declining enrollment. There were three public meetings held to allow community input. At the board meeting where the decision was made, the public was again given the opportunity to speak.
The actions of the district in regard to the school closing were in conformity with the spirit of open and frank information gathering envisioned in the BARKER guidelines.
The local board's decision is affirmed.
